. there was a conference call with the obama care team and reporters a few hours ago. the hot issue, not how the website was working but how many people are getting the coverage they think they have signed up for. today the administration was pressed on thisful there was a key moment in the call when a reporter tried to get a federal agency to come clean on how many errors they are. the errors are leading to misinformation going to the insurance companies not knowing the identity of many of those who think they have signed up, but, in fact, haven't signed up. the forms are called 834s. listen. >> as the work continues, as we validate numbers and transactions with them, value day to day the assessment of the fixes that have been put in place, we'll definitely report back to you on that progress. and on the numbers over time. >> i plan to report on progress as we have the information. >> right. but i'm asking specifically about errors in the 834s. will you give us a metric measure of how many 834s the errors are affecting? >> it's the same information, sara. as soon as i can validate numbers we'll report

the official restart of the obama care era and the day the window finally closed for good for republicans trying to kill the thing. from the day obama was elected president, republicans have been determined to block health care reform. they got scott brown elected. they took the law all the way to the supreme court, voted dozens of times to defund or repeal it, shut down the government for 16 days, and obama care survived all of it. irony is that while republicans couldn't kill obama care, the administration almost could. >> good evening. president obama now finds himself compared to president george w. bush, as in the problems with the health care plan have become president obama's katrina. >> but today, the website is now fixed enough that it looks like obama care is really here to stay. the repeal strategy is dead and obama care is out of the icu. according to the administration, the error message rate for the front end of the website is less than 1%. that's down from about 6% last month. the site can now handle 50,000 users at a time, 800,000 per day. keep in mind, at one point, the s

a couple of days ago. tens of thousands of americans who think they have health insurance under obama care may discover january 1 that they do not. after days of refusing to release the stats on the problems that have been plaguing health care.gov the administration has announced under pressure from the press that the enrollments of 1 of every 4 people in the months of october and november were botched. at least one of every four. now since then they say at least one of every ten federal applications have had problems, since the fix. they think the number is higher in the state exchanges. a reporter pressed the agency in charge of the exchanges, the federal exchange for a solution to the mess. people think they have the coverage. they don't have the coverage. the insurer has a botched form. it doesn't have a name so it can't call the person to tell them, it didn't work for you. here was the answer. >> but you're not saying everyone should call. you're not suggesting urging them strongly despite the fact you are talking about a potential one in ten error rate going forward? >> i would encou

the benefits of obama care. the president heads off this fresh offensive with a speech planned for 2:30 p.m. eastern surrounded by americans who have been helped by the health care law. just announced this morning, this thursday, msnbc "hardball" host chris matthews will have a sitdown with president obama joined by students from american universities. the so-called young invincibles that the white house needs to reach. each and every day between now and december the 23rd, the administration and congressional democrats will hold an event touting a different positive aspect of the health care law, just like those advent calendars so many of us are using this time of year. seems familiar, right? the ones where every day of the month you pop open another door and reveal something special inside? three years after he signed the affordable care act into law, two months after the botched rollout of the health care website, the administration hopes a three-week campaign will remind all americans why they're doing this in the first place. >> how hard of a slog is it going to be for the white hous

with the vice president. one issue that came cross with president obama is since the health care roll out is bungled, there is this issue of trust. a new cnn poll when asked if you trust the president, 46% agreed and 53% disagreed. how much of a drag will president obama be on your prospects to reclaim the house and do you want him front and center on stage with candidates in swing districts? >> i don't think he is going to be a drag at all and honestly, we want the focus to focus on the affordable care act and when it works well and works better, our prospects are enhanced and the president's in that is a very strong one. it helps us. you have got two philosophies here. the democratic philosophy that recognizes that the roll out was a disaster. we have to be focussed on getting it right and most americans in the battle ground districts agree. they would rather get it right than repeal it. you have the republican philosophy that is obsessed with ambushing and sabotaging and repealing it. they are talking about going back to the days where a woman with breast cancer is told by her insuranc
